Who we are

A lifelong Detroit native, Robert Olive, Founder & Executive Director was born and raised on the East Side of Detroit. He graduated from Central High School in 2000 and went on to Wayne State University to obtain two Associate Degrees. Robert had some life setbacks that he eventually turned into a testimony that would assist many others. Along his journey Robert was given a vision to start Righteous Sons an organization that would be a support and community to those who didn’t feel like they fit or who were misplaced. He would take those and empower them to use their gifting to build a community and support for others. In 2018 before Righteous Sons fully became an accredited organization, Robert led Righteous Sons as a part of Judge Mathis’ Water Caravan Team where individuals from Detroit teamed up and distributed over 10000 cases of water to Flint residents.

Robert led the first department to be started within Righteous Sons, The Criminal Justice Reform Department and assisted 87 people off parole in the last four years. Robert also mentored 3 individuals as an alternative to them being sentenced to prison, and they are still living reformed lives to today. He worked with other dedicated individuals to get the juvenile age raised twice. Robert Olive played a key role in the release of two individuals who were wrongfully incarcerated, and they are now released.

During the COVID shutdown Robert was one of the local leaders in Partnership with World Central Kitchen in distributing over 550,000 meals in Detroit and 78,000 in Flint. Robert Olive is a licensed and ordained minister and Associated Pastor of Church of the Messiah Detroit. He is recognized and respected in the community.

Personally, Roberts loves to spend time catching the wind on his motorcycle. Robert is a father, ambitious and dedicated to the work he does. He is passionate about seeing others reach their potential
